Angola. (Agencias)- La imagen fue captada durante un eclipse, desde las aisladas Islas Marshall, cerca de Papúa Nueva Guinea en el Océano Pacífico.
Diez veces más densa que el centro del Sol, la corona sólo produce en torno a una millonésima parte de su luz. Por ello, sólo es visible cuando resplandece durante un eclipse.
La Luna bloquea la mayor parte de las radiaciones de la superficie solar cuando se interpone entre el Sol y la Tierra. Eso permite captar imágenes tan sorprendentes como esta de la corona solar.
la expedición de seguimiento de sombras captó esta impresionante fotografía en las Islas Marshall, en Angola. La imagen servirá para estudiar los cambios en el plasma.
El autor de la fotografía, el Profesor Miloslav Druckmuller, comentó: “Aunque la razón de captar esta imagen era puramente científica, el resultado muestra la enorme belleza de la naturaleza.
La misteriosa corona ha traído a los científicos de cabeza durante años. Se extiende a más de un millón de kilómetros del sol y es 200 veces más caliente que la superficie visible del Astro Rey.
El origen del calor de la corona está aún sujeto a debate, pero es posible que se deba al campo magnético solar y las olas de presión sónica que parten de debajo de su superficie.
