Taiwán resuelve misterio viscosidad amarilla
China. (Reuters) – Luego de recibir una serie de quejas, funcionarios taiwaneses descubrieron que una misteriosa viscosidad amarilla que cubrió por semanas autos y ropa colgada era producto de los excrementos de abejas estacionales.
Las abejas atraídas a granjas y viveros de plantas cerca de la ciudad densamente poblada de Kaohsiung han cubierto un vecindario con sus deposiciones desde febrero, alarmando e irritando a los residentes que no sabían de donde provenía la suciedad.
Chen Kung-fu, un funcionario de la unidad de protección ambiental del municipio, dijo el viernes que se inició una investigación sobre el problema luego de que residentes se quejaron de manchas en casi todos los autos estacionados, así como las ropas colgadas para secarse.
El número de abejas debería declinar en abril, luego de la temporada de flores, dijo Chen, pero hasta entonces no hay nada que las autoridades pueden hacer para alejar a los insectos de los hogares.
Las abejas son difíciles de detener debido a su velocidad de vuelo”, dijo Chen. “Pero las deposiciones no pueden dañar a nadie. Podemos confirmar eso”, indicó el funcionario.
Un extendido desarrollo urbano en Taiwán se ha adentrado hacia las granjas de la isla y los bosques subtropicales, haciendo común el contacto humano con la flora y fauna nativa.
