Disidencia deplora “destierro” de ex presos
LA HABANA. (AFP)- Seis presos políticos cubanos y sus familiares dijeron el domingo estar listos para viajar a España, en tanto dirigentes de la disidencia interna reclaman contra el método de excarcelación, que califican de “destierro”.
Los seis se suman a 20 que ya dejaron Cuba en virtud de una decisión del Gobierno tras un inédito diálogo con la Iglesia católica apoyado por España, de excarcelar a los restantes 52 presos políticos de un grupo de 75, condenados en 2003.
Antes había sido excarcelado Ariel Sigler, un disidente parapléjico que viajó a Estados Unidos, donde recibe tratamiento médico especializado.
Los seis son el médico Marcelo Cano (45 años), el poeta Regis Iglesias (40), los periodistas Juan Carlos Herrera (44), Fabio Prieto (47) y Juan Fernández (61), así como Efrén Fernández (57).
“Llamó Juan Carlos Herrera y nos dijo que ya le hicieron el chequeo médico y le habían entregado la ropa para el viaje”, dijo a la AFP la periodista independiente Miriam Leiva, esposa del preso excarcelado Oscar Espinosa Chepe.
“Ayer nos hicieron todas las cuestiones de papeles y análisis, desde las 7 de la mañana hasta las 7 de la tarde”, dijo a la AFP Catalina Cano, tía del médico Marcelo Cano, y una de las siete personas que lo acompañarán a España, entre las que se encuentran su esposa y dos hijos.
“Así que ya estamos preparados para de un momento a otro viajar con el favor de Dios”, dijo Catalina, quien dijo se encontró en un lugar de los trámites con los familiares de los otros cinco reos.
Tras el diálogo iniciado el 19 de mayo entre el presidente Raúl Castro y el cardenal Jaime Ortega, comenzó en julio el proceso excarcelación previsto para tres y cuatro meses.
Liberar a esos “reclusos contrarrevolucionarios” es una “decisión soberana y en estricto apego a nuestras leyes”, dijo Raúl Castro en un discurso el 1 de agosto, y muestra que “la Revolución puede ser generosa porque es fuerte”, añadió.
“Nadie se llame a engaño. La defensa de nuestras sagradas conquistas, de nuestras calles y plazas, seguirá siendo el primer deber de los revolucionarios”, advirtió.
Los que han aceptado la propuesta del cardenal de viajar a España, están en el Combinado del Este, un penal de La Habana del que parten directamente al aeropuerto, donde se encontrarán con los familiares que los acompañarán.
“Para nosotras siempre es una alegría (la liberación), pero este tipo de excarcelación continúa siendo un destierro”, dijo a la AFP Laura Pollán, líder de las Damas de Blanco, esposas y familiares de los 75.
Añadió que “duele que vayan al destierro, que salgan de la prisión directo al aeropuerto y no puedan despedirse de los familiares que no viajan, de los amigos”.
El presidente del Parlamento cubano, Ricardo Alarcón, y el canciller español Miguel Angel Moratinos, quien conversó en la Habana con Castro y Ortega en mayo, han asegurado que el propósito oficial es liberar no sólo los 52, sino a todos los presos políticos que no estén implicados en hechos de sangre o terrorismo.
La excarcelación “va muy lenta” pues “el Gobierno necesitó tres o cuatro días para encarcelarlos y ahora necesita tres o cuatro meses para excarcelarlos”, dijo a la AFP el activista de los Derechos Humanos Elizardo Sánchez.
Sánchez también percibe en esa lentitud un elemento de “presión sicológica” a los presos que no aceptan salir del país, “pues ninguno (de ellos) ha sido excarcelado”.
