Una juventud demasiado vieja

LA HABANA. (Generacion Y)- La máxima cita de la Unión de Jóvenes Comunistas concluyó en La Habana, pero su pariente mayor, el Partido, aún no anuncia la fecha en que celebrará su sexto congreso.
Raúl Castro afirmó a principios de 2009 que convocaría -a la mayor brevedad- una conferencia nacional del PCC, pero a estas alturas nadie puede ubicarla en el almanaque. La UJC se le ha ido entonces por delante al reunirse en el Palacio de las Convenciones y discutir temas que habrían dejado fructíferas polémicas si hubieran contado con un marco de verdadero respeto.
Bajo el lema de “Todo por la Revolución”, cientos de rostros juveniles observaron la mesa presidencial repleta de funcionarios que ya cumplieron más de seis décadas de vida.
La vieja generación no estuvo allí para decirles a los más nuevos “el país también es de ustedes, les toca ahora decidir el rumbo”, sino que los exhortó al sacrificio, los amonestó por la poca combatividad y quiso arrancarles pactos de continuidad y eterna fidelidad.
Es el tipo de acciones que desarrolla un partido político en relación con su cantera, pero en el caso cubano se trata de la única organización juvenil permitida por la ley. Llama la atención que a esa edad en que adoptamos las poses más variadas y defendemos las banderas más increíbles, a nuestros jóvenes sólo les está admitida la militancia bajo el carnet rojo. Muchos de ellos, en circunstancias más libres, engrosarían filas en un grupo ecológico, se sumarían a un piquete de activistas sindicales o se afiliarían para exigir el fin del Servicio Militar Obligatorio.
Quienes hoy forman parte de la UJC nacieron comenzado ya el Período Especial, no alcanzaron juguetes en las tiendas de productos racionados y sólo tomaron leche -legalmente- hasta los siete años.
Han crecido gracias al mercado negro y se han puesto zapatos porque sus padres desviaron recursos del estado o le pidieron a un pariente exiliado ayuda para comprarlos. Se trata de una generación crecida en medio del apartheid turístico que impedía a los cubanos entrar en los hoteles o acceder a ciertos servicios; hijos amamantados con consignas vacías en las escuelas y palabras de hastío en los hogares.
A pesar de su compromiso de lealtad, sospecho que acarician el desquite, ese momento en que romperán todas las promesas hechas a los mayores.
