La luz que agoniza

El periodo más gris y más desesperanzador de los últimos cincuenta años en Cuba, fue aquel que transcurrió entre los años 1992 y 1994. Durante aquella etapa de epidemias y miserias, la falta de fluido eléctrico fue sin dudas el elemento más frustrante para la ciudadanía. Aquellos apagones de seis, ocho y doce horas, aún se mantienen en el imaginario colectivo. Forman parte de una culpa asociada para siempre a la gerontocracia verdeolivo.
El rotativo Granma vocero del minoritario, excluyente y gobernante Partido Comunista, en sus últimas ediciones pide ahorro de combustible y ahorro de electricidad. En la edición del sábado 23 de mayo, un despacho firmado por la Agencia de Información Nacional (AIN) da cuenta de un paquete de medidas excepcionales encaminadas al ahorro de electricidad. El paquete entrará en vigor el 1ro de junio y según AIN, abarcará todo el país.
El transporte público por ómnibus se ha visto dramáticamente reducido en la capital. Fuentes afines a la gerencia de este rubro y que insistieron en mantener su anonimato, manifestaron que las últimas reducciones en los viajes estuvieron dadas por la reducción en un tercio de la cuota de combustible asignada. Asignación que ciertamente nunca fue muy generosa.
Despachos de prensa internacional informan sobre una reducción de importancia en el ingreso nacional de Venezuela. Quizás esto explique la inquietud en las esferas de gobierno de La Habana. El gobierno de Raúl Castro ha caído en una irreversible crisis interna de pérdida de confianza y se prepara para el peor de los escenarios.
Reportes de la prensa nacional independiente señalan un severo incremento de la actividad represiva. Existe evidencia de un uso quirúrgico y selectivo de la violencia contra opositores. Grupos anti motines y personal especializado en estos menesteres, se encuentran listos para reprimir explosiones populares anti gubernamentales.
Por lo pronto, académicos que prefirieron guardar su anonimato, pensadores independientes y gentes de a pie, coinciden en señalar que si regresan los apagones, el pueblo no lo soportará. De ahí la febril preparación de personal y medios anti motín.
Por el momento los cortes en la energía eléctrica son ocasionales y afectan zonas de la periferia capitalina. Diez de Octubre, San Miguel del Padrón y Arroyo Naranjo son los municipios que han visto afectado el suministro eléctrico, en determinadas zonas residenciales.
Según la información publicada por Granma, el sector residencial del que se dice disfruta de una tarifa subsidiada, a pesar de que tales tarifas sufrieron en fecha reciente un sustancial incremento, experimenta alzas en el consumo. En relación con el sector estatal, las últimas inspecciones realizadas detectaron más de tres mil violaciones en los protocolos establecidos.
Para el régimen cubano las dificultades del subvencionador venezolano, pudieran traducirse en que las luces se apaguen en la Isla y el régimen colapse. Como ya se ha dicho, nadie está dispuesto a regresar a las noches sin esperanza del 93 y el 94. Sudar a oscuras, sin ventiladores, mal alimentados y con alguna que otra epidemia en el ambiente, será una experiencia aunque conocida, terminal.
No es para menos. La luz que agoniza en Cuba es el resultado de la gestión estéril de un gobierno compuesto por militares y dirigido por un selecto grupo de ancianos que rebasa los 70 años. Estos pretenciosos desde hace más de cincuenta años intentan dirigir un país como se hace con una agrupación de tropas.
Lógicamente, si este estado perdedor no produce y sobrevive parasitariamente de la subvención venezolana, la crisis que se enseñorea en el mundo, puede afectarlo en mayor medida que al resto de la comunidad internacional.
Quizás se nos viene encima una excelente oportunidad para refundarnos como país. Pero eso sí, al menos con la mínima garantía de poder encender las luces, tomar un ómnibus sin sobresaltos y encender el ventilador cuando haga calor en La Habana.
